Abstract

The purposes of this research mainly is to proveand to explainthe relationship between the job satisfaction and the job stress. The method applied to achieve this purposes are a correlation analysis and aregression model. The data for assessing this research are acquired from the employee of Bank Indonesia Cirebon office from begin until end of March 2011.There are twovariables in this research. The independent variable is the job stress. The dependent variable is job satisfaction. The dimension of the job satisfaction used in this research are nature of job, supervision, relationship, promotion and remuneration. The dimension of the job stress are interpersonal demands, role demands,and organizational leadership. The hypothesis used at this research is that there is a significant relationship between the job satisfaction and the job stress(interpersonal demands, role demands, and organizational leadership). This research obtain the data to analyze by collecting the opinion of the employee by questionaires given to themand also used interview and observation. The result of this research shows that there is no significant relationship between the job satisfaction and the job stress from interpersonal demands and organizational leadership, but there is significant relationship between job satisfaction and the job stress from role demands. Furthermore, the finding revealed that this relationship is in a negative manner. It shows that ifthe degree of the job satisfaction becomes greater, the degree of the job stress will be lower. This research support the manager to concern and to increase the job satisfaction and to decrease the job stress of their employee in order to maximize the out put of their work. This research also support other researcher to make an advanced similar research by using the more heterogen sample and widerof the field of research.
