Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of environmental performance and the disclosure of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on bond ratings. The sample used is 12 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2014-2018. This research used binary logistic regression as a method of data analysis. Environmental performance is measured by PROPER, while CSR disclosure is proxied by GRI Standards 2016. Using logistic analysis, the study results show that companies with higher CSR disclosure tend to have higher credit ratings (investment grade), though having a better environmental performance seems to have no effect. This implies that the transparency of CSR has more impact on increasing the bond rating given by rating agencies. These findings are robust after being tested with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) model.
