Abstract

The purpose of this research areto know how much the motivation according toAlderfer‟s ERG Theoryaffectinsurance agent‟s performance and to know between three motivation variables (Existence needs, RelatednessNeeds, and Growth Needs) influence toward agentsperformance in PT. Prudential Life Assurance at Kingdom Agency, Jakarta. As we all know that insurance agent is the frontline for the existence ofinsurance company. The writer is challenged to conduct this research which is applying simple random sampling method and is using Multiple Regression Analyzis, and its result would be summarized as below (1)The Value of Adjusted R-squared is 0,598 or (59,8%). This circumstance shows that the contribution of independent variable (Existence needs, Relatedness needs and Growth needs) to dependent variable (Insurance agent‟s work performance) is 59,8% or the variation of independent variable that used in the model (Existence needs, Relatedness needs, and Growth needs) can explain 59,8% variation of dependent variable. While the residue 40,2% is affected from other variables that is not counted in this research. (2)According to the F-test result, can be summarized that all of the independent variables in this research simultaneously affect dependent variable (Insurance agent‟s performance).(3)Based on the t-test result, can be summarized that all the independent variable in this research, those are Existence needs, Relatedness needs and Growth needs partially affect Insurance agent‟s performance Finally, the hy pothesis motivation factor‟s examination (Existence needs, Relatedness needs and Growth needs), the motivation factor that is the most influence to insurance agent‟s performance is Relatedness needs Keyword: Existence needs, Relatedness needs, Growth needs, Motivation, Work Performance
