Abstract
The expansion of business is mostly done by the emerging companies, through internal expansion or external. One of the popular external expansions is acquisition. Therefore, this study aims to determine the financial performance of PT Indosat before and after being acquired by Qatar telecom, using the financial ratio such as liquidity ratios, solvency ratio, profitability ratio, asset utilization ratio, and the ratio of the market during the period 2005-2011. It also wanted to know whether the change is significant. There are two analysis stages, the first one is the descriptive analysis and then use statistical analysis of paired sample t-test with the level of the significance of 5%. The results of this study using descriptive analysis found that in general after being acquired financial performance of PT Indosat is decreased, except collection period, cash turnover, A/R turnover, price earnings ratio, dividend yield and dividend payout ratio which showed improved performance. Result of statistic based on paired sample t-test, in general the changes of the financial ratios PT indosat is significant, only the working capital ratio, price earnings ratio, and, earnings yieldare not made a significant changes.
